Risināmā problēma

Nodarbībā „Explain a problem and what happened next” izglītojamie pirms stundas patstāvīgi iepazīstas ar jauno gramatiku: Past Continuous (aktivitāte procesā) un Past Simple (īsa darbība, kas to pārtrauc).

Create a 60-second educational video (maximum 60 seconds) for adult learners of English (CEFR A2/B1) who use English at work and when travelling. Topic: past simple and past continuous for an interruption.

Presenter: one friendly adult presenter, calm pace, clear British English. Simple professional design, 16:9. Show English captions for all speech.

Use EXACTLY this script. Do not add, change or remove any words:

“Hi! Today: telling a story about a problem at work or on a trip.
Listen to Omar’s story. At half past eight, Omar was waiting at the station when he received a message. His meeting had a new location! He was reading the address when his phone battery died. Luckily, his colleague met him outside the station, and they walked to the office together.
So: was or were plus -ing is an activity in progress. The past simple is the short action that interrupts it.
Quick question: what was Omar doing at half past eight? [pause 2 seconds] He was waiting at the station.
Now it’s your turn. Tell your own story about a problem at work or on a trip.”

On-screen text during the rule: show a simple timeline with “was waiting” as a long bar and “received” as a short arrow that interrupts it. Show the goal at the start: “I can explain an interruption: I was waiting when…”
