AMy military career began with a period of essential training that prepared me for professional service. I decided to pursue a career in the armed forces ten years ago and initially enlisted as a soldier. I underwent basic training in Alūksne, where I learned the fundamental skills of a soldier. Following this, I was posted to the Mechanized Infantry Brigade to serve with a high-readiness unit. This initial phase was vital for my development during my first years of active duty.
BAs I gained more experience, I had the opportunity to advance through the ranks and participate in international missions. Because of my strong performance in the field, I was promoted to Sergeant. Shortly after my promotion, I was deployed for a six-month mission where I was responsible for operational tasks. This role required constant liaison with our NATO partners to ensure successful cooperation. Consequently, my superiors recognized my potential, which led to my decision to study at the Academy and become a commissioned officer.
CCurrently, I am focused on managing personnel while preparing for senior leadership responsibilities. I am holding the rank of Captain and I am stationed at the Joint Headquarters in Riga. My daily work involves supervising specialized personnel and coordinating complex projects. To improve my credentials, I will soon attend a senior course at the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) in Estonia. Since I plan to continue my service for several more years, I am fully committed to my long-term professional development.
